What does a typical day look like in your job? A typical day at work? I’ll have to say there isn’t really a typical day for me as such, each day has its own requirements. But if I was to elaborate on what my day entails it would be my role as the Operations Manager. Every morning I will go through the Pipeline to see what is needed for completion for our clients. I will then organize the staff to suit these needs in order of most time-sensitive. Throughout the day I will keep a keen eye on whatever freight is being dispatched or received so our customers get their items in a timely manner. Meanwhile, I will be taking inquiries from new or existing customers in regards to our products but specifically Pilots Kits.
What are some of the highlights of your job? I would have to say the biggest highlight of my job is the growth in which it has become over the past few years. The staff that work with me are nothing less than spectacular as I put them under enormous pressure sometimes. Each & every one of them is up to the task with what they accomplish. Everyone at Advance is what I consider to be extended family. It is a pleasure to be a part of what the future holds.
Tell us a bit about yourself…Born & bred in Parkes, I graduated from school in 2000 not really sure of what I wanted to become. I moved to Canberra to pursue a career as a chef. After spending 6 years in the ACT I moved back to Parkes where I started a beautiful family. As being in the hospitality industry wasn’t particularly suited for family life I gave it up. Not long after Gareth & the Mansley family gave me an opportunity to work at Advance. I will have to say changed my life completely & have never looked back.
