Recovery Strops

Our recovery strops are essential for large vehicle recovery, especially in off-road or emergencies. Here’s why you might need one. No matter if it’s a smaller tractor or an extra large mining machine, these strops will help you out of a stuck place.

1. Safe & Controlled Recovery

Our Blue Tongue recovery strops (or strap) help pull stuck large vehicles out of mud, sand, snow, or other difficult terrains without causing damage. It distributes force more evenly than a chain or rope, reducing the risk of sudden jerks or breakage.

2. Stretch & Shock Absorption

Unlike chains or static ropes, our recovery strops are made of nylon or polyester, which have some elasticity. This stretch absorbs shock and provides a more controlled recovery, minimizing stress on both vehicles.

3. Strong & Durable

High-quality recovery strops are rated for heavy loads, making them reliable for pulling even large vehicles out of tough spots.

4. Versatile Use

They can be used for self-recovery with a winch, towing, or even as an anchor point in tricky recovery situations.

5. Reduced Risk of Injury

Unlike steel cables, our Blue Tongue recovery strops don’t snap as dangerously under tension. If they do break, they are less likely to cause serious injury compared to chains or steel ropes.

Does it matter which way a cutting disc goes on a grinder?
Ensure the obviousness of this fact, as the prevalence of incorrect mounting is high and can lead to severe harm. Before all else, verify that the grinder is disconnected from any power source. Utilize the designated flange that corresponds with the machine, and inspect it for cleanliness, absence of burrs, and any signs of damage. In the case of flat cutting discs, properly attach the flange with the flat side facing the wheel.

Why do my cutting discs keep breaking?
When your cut-off wheel gets pinched by the weight of the steel in a cut it will blow your discs apart. Imagine cutting down a tree with a chainsaw, and the weight of the tree clamps the bar and stops the saw. Other factors include bad storage, incorrect selection of a wheel, improper mounting, excessive out-of-balance conditions, excessive speed, grinding machine defects, and malpractices in the grinding operations are all factors that can result in breakage.

When should I stop using my cutting disc?

1. Chipping on the disc
2. Burn marks on the disc
3. When the disc cuts very slowly
4. When it starts making unusual sounds
5. If there are any missing teeth

Do metal-cutting discs have an expiry date?
Good quality discs typically bear an expiration date that is imprinted somewhere on them. You can usually find it on the central metal ring or directly on the disc. In some cases, it may be presented on a label affixed to the disc. Remember, this date indicates the recommended period for usage and must not be surpassed.

What thickness cutting disc should I use?
Metal cutting discs are ideal for slicing through metal and come in various thicknesses, as detailed later. To handle routine tasks on stainless or mild steel, select a cutting disc with a thickness of either 1mm or 1.6mm. If you need to cut thin sheet metals, go for a disc with a thickness of 1mm or 0.8mm.

The Flood Beam – mining grade heavy-duty and the Spot Beam – mining grade heavy-duty.

They are affordable, water and dustproof, shock-resistant, easy to install, simple to use, long-lasting and very heavy-duty for even the roughest operators/conditions.

What is the difference between a spot and a beam work light?

The main difference between a spot and a beam work light is how they distribute light:

1. Spot Work Light

• Focusing light on a specific task or area
• Seeing objects at a distance

🔹 Wide & Even Light Spread (45°–120° angle)
🔹 Shorter-Range but More Coverage
🔹 Ideal for:

• General workspace lighting
• Illuminating a large area
• Construction sites, garages, or workshops
  🔹 Example: Lighting up an entire job site, a warehouse, or a backyard workspace
