What does a typical day look like in your job?

The first thing I do when I get to work is to pick and pack any orders that need to be fulfilled and make sure it is done promptly. I also arrange couriers to collect the orders. I assist in other areas as needed by doing tasks as requested.

What are some of the highlights of your job?

I have enjoyed the change that I made with my employment and appreciate the family atmosphere that Advance offers. The morning catchups are great, communicating with the staff. The variety of tasks that I do during the day. I am constantly learning new things which gives me satisfaction in my work and assists with the day going so quick.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I came to this position after being in another industry for 26-plus years. It was time for a change to keep me going. I’m a keen sportsman ad have been all my life. This has extended to supporting my children who are also keen sportspersons in the hockey arena. I have taken to playing lawn bowls which I began with my eldest son some 15 years ago. I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife and I are looking forward to many holidays in the caravan we have just purchased. When the weather permits!
